Tom Price asbestos roof replacement
Rio Tinto: Mess Hall – Roof replacement while in use
This project required the removal and replacement of 10,000m2 of roof cladding above accommodation blocks and the camp mess hall, while still in use.
The mess hall operated 24 hours a day.
PRC Building Services Pty Ltd had to work closely with the Food Services Department to ensure the health and safety of employees and other people dining in the mess hall.
The accommodation blocks had decramastic roof tiles which contained asbestos material within the glue this needed to be safely removed.
This project was completed with zero downtime and zero safety incidents, in accordance with Rio Tinto’s strict safety guidelines and policies.
